Set out below are biographies of our Senior Management team.


Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Steve McCann was appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on 1 June 2021.
Mr McCann is a highly regarded and experienced business leader with over 25 years of executive experience.
Mr McCann was previously the Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Lendlease from December 2008 to May 2021. Prior to his appointment as Group Chief Executive Officer at Lendlease, Mr McCann held the positions of Group Finance Director and Chief Executive Officer for Lendlease’s Investment Management business. Lendlease is a leading international property development, investments and construction business with over 10,000 employees and is listed on the ASX with a market capitalisation of A$9b.
Prior to joining Lendlease, Mr McCann had 15 years’ experience in property, funds management, investment banking and capital markets transactions gained through senior leadership roles at ABN AMRO and as Head of Property at Bankers Trust. Previous roles included four years as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Freehills and four years in taxation accounting.

Mr McCann is a member of the Business Council of Australia and while at Lendlease was a strong advocate in the Property Council of Australia’s Champions of Change Coalition. In 2013, Mr McCann was announced as the Property Person of the Year by the Urban Taskforce Australia. 

Mr McCann holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
Mr McCann’s appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer is subject to probity and regulatory approval.

Alan F Mcgregor, bcom, ca

Chief Financial Officer and Interim Company Secretary

Alan McGregor was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer of Crown with effect from 20 August 2020 and interim Company Secretary of Crown on 18 February 2020.

Mr McGregor has a strong casino background, having first joined Crown in April 2005 as General Manager Corporate Services at Crown Perth (formerly Burswood Entertainment Complex) and progressing to the role of Chief Financial Officer of Crown Perth in 2007.

Mr McGregor then moved to Melbourne in April 2013 to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer – Crown Melbourne, before taking the collective role of Chief Financial Officer – Australian Resorts which he held from August 2014 until his most recent appointment in August 2020.

Prior to joining Crown, Mr McGregor worked for SKYCITY Entertainment Group for seven years in various finance roles.

Mr McGregor is a Council Member of Crown College Institute of Higher Education, holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and is a member of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.


Xavier Walsh, BEC

Chief Executive Officer – Crown Melbourne

Xavier Walsh was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Crown Melbourne on 17 December 2020.
With over 20 years’ of gaming industry experience, Xavier Walsh has held single and multi-property roles in various Australian and United States jurisdictions.
Mr Walsh first started his gaming career at TABCORP Holdings in Melbourne after working for a number of years at KPMG.  Holding various positions in the Corporate and Gaming Divisions, he was subsequently appointed CFO at Star City Casino upon its acquisition by TABCORP.  A further acquisition of Jupiter’s Limited, saw Mr Walsh appointed as General Manager of the Brisbane casino, Conrad Treasury, and later Managing Director of the company’s three Queensland casinos.
He relocated back to Sydney to take up a divisional role as Executive Director of Strategy and Commercial Development, before leaving to join Crown Limited in the United States working on secondment as the COO of Cannery Casino Resorts which operated in Nevada and Pennsylvania. 
Mr Walsh left the US to return to Australia in late 2013 where he assumed the position as Chief Operating Officer of Crown Melbourne, before his most recent appointment to Chief Executive Officer of Crown Melbourne.


Peter Crinis

Chief Executive Officer – Crown Sydney

With over 25 years’ experience in the hotel and hospitality industry across Australia, Peter Crinis is one of Australia’s senior business leaders in the travel and tourism sector.
In his current role as Chief Executive Officer for Crown Sydney & Crown Hotels nationally, Crinis is responsible for some of the largest pieces of tourism infrastructure in Australia. 
Having risen from the role of Rooms Division Manager of Crown Towers Melbourne, Crinis oversees a team of more than 2000 employees across Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, who support the seamless management of 3135 luxury accommodation rooms across 7 hotels and the newly opened Crown Sydney Resort. 
He also manages stakeholder interests at Crown’s impressive stable of over 25 international and luxury brands.
Under Crinis’ stewardship, Crown Towers Melbourne & Crown Towers Perth have both achieved the coveted Forbes 5 Star rating over consecutive years and are regarded as setting the benchmark in excellence in luxury accommodation in Australia.
In 2014, Crinis received the Tourism Accommodation Australia (Victoria) ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry’ award.  A long-standing board member of Tourism Accommodation Australia, Peter also currently sits on the board for Visit Victoria and the Children’s Cancer Foundation and is a Million Dollar Lunch committee member.



Group General Counsel

Betty joined Crown Resorts as Group General Counsel in June 2021 and is corporate lawyer and executive with over 20 years’ experience in ASX listed companies and international organisations.

Previously, Betty was Group Director – Legal & Corporate Affairs for Coca-Cola Amatil Limited from 2016, leading the legal, governance and corporate affairs teams through until the takeover by scheme of the company which completed in May 2021.

Betty was also the Group General Counsel and Company Secretary for GrainCorp Limited from 2008 to 2016 and built the first legal and compliance team for the company, leading them through a period of vast growth and diversity, spanning many geographies. 

Betty previously held corporate counsel positions with companies including CSR Limited, Walter Constructions and Sinclair Knight Merz.

Betty is an active member of the International Bar Association (IBA), an ExCo member of the GC100 - Australian Corporate Counsel (ACC) and was previously a board director of Women’s Community Shelters.
